Gary Karten E-RYT 500
For three decades I have been on my yoga journey working through a myriad of injuries
making a profound connection to my mind and body. This evolution within myself has inspired me to create this very personal, safe and effective yoga method- Quonny Yoga.
Fitness has always been my interest for over 30 years. I have practiced and studied martial arts, American Kempo, Tae kwon do, running, bodybuilding & powerlifting.
I have also been a personal trainer & spinning instructor. I have had multiple injuries
I did not pay attention to & surgeries that left me with plenty of scar tissue that I had to learn how to restretch and heal. I did not address these issues until I realized yoga was the only way to heal and bring my body back to full vitality! In 2007 I received my E-RYT 500 yoga teaching certification. A few years into my teaching, yoga master Ana Forrest invited me to assist her to manage her trainings worldwide,
Learning many healing techniques & working with thousands of students from around the world I have mastered my own personal practice and now share all the healing techniques I have mastered, I teach in Charlestown, RI at the Quonochontaug Grange, Rte. 1.
I have also studied with yoga Masters Brian Kest, Barron Baptiste, &
Tias Little. I’ve spent many years traveling nationally and internationally around the world at yoga journal conferences, Wonderlust festivals and trainings in Korea, Singapore, Shanghai, South Africa, Cape Town, Johannesburg, England, Berlin, Amsterdam, Austria, Italy, Syria, Canada, Chicago, Santa Monica California, Alaska, Florida, Houston Texas, Seattle, Washington, Hong Kong and many other countries with over 10,000 teaching hours teaching teachers & advanced teacher trainings plus introduction to foundational techniques.
My method & teaching style combines yoga movement, breath & alignment, with a deep understanding of how to connect the breath with movement. This practice is alignment focused. The benefits include better skeletal alignment, deep muscular stretching to tap into your connective tissues, ligaments and tendons, deepening your mental and physical flexibility, as tension and stress slowly melts away.
Your whole body will slowly learn to relax.
So come down to Quonny Yoga &
meet new friends & learn traditional Hatha Yoga. If you have injuries, this study of yoga is a must!
Come join our growing yoga community in Charlestown, Rhode Island.
Namaste,
Gary
